The Exeter Festival of South-West Food & Drink is a fantastic, vibrant event celebrating the region’s food and drink industry. The festival attracts foodies who come to watch chef demonstrations, meet local producers and generally enjoy both the gastronomic offering and general vibe of this very special 3-day event.
Having made a conventional interview-based film for the festival in 2011, revisiting it in 2015 I wanted to create something with a real point of difference. Because of his profile, and as the Festival’s founder and its champion, it made sense for Michael Caines to be at core of the film, his commentary drives the narrative. It’s an event of beauty and optimism and I wanted that to be reflected in the film.
